Trek guides lead both horseback and conventional
treks. Price depends on a trek’s difficulty and
the level of experience needed from your guide.
The vast majority of treks under 2 weeks require
only a 20$/day guide.

Highly qualified and very experienced. Essential
for mountaineering expeditions to the Central Tien
Shan's summits. Prices over 5000m depend upon an
ascent's level of technical difficulty - please
ask for a quote. A very few, particularly
demanding routes below this altitude may also
attract a small supplement. |

Up to 15kg of luggage per porter. $1 per day for
every extra kg. Allowing 1.5 porters per trekker
is normally sufficient to cover luggage and
camping equipment for treks of less than 14 days.
Please remember to allow porter space for your
guide, interpreter and food!

Trek workmen put up tents, clean the stoves and
kitchen equipment, collect wood and water, build
campfires, dig toilets (for big groups) and carry
out odd jobs around the camp |

Grooms rub down, feed and water the horses every
day, watch over them at night and ensure that tack
is kept in good condition |
TREK HORSE | For horse treks, allow approx. 2 horses per person, including staff | -

Price increases for last-minute bookings to cover
the extra work and costs involved in finding
horses at short notice (these are all working,
traditional Kyrgyz mountain ponies whose owners
may have had other work planned for
them!). |
