ITINERARY
|
|
Day 1. Arrive Almaty,
Kazakhstan
You begin your tour in ALMATY,
the capital of Kazakhstan. Today you arrive in this huge city
and just
upon arrival and
after sightseeing tour,
hosted by our guide (Highlights include the ORTHODOX CHURCH,
ORIENTAL BAZAAR, NATIONAL SQUARE, MUSEUM OF ARTS etc.), you have a transfer to KARAKOL town via CHARYN
CANYON (the small copy of American's Bryce or Grand or Zion
Canyons) and TEMIRLAN STONES, place where is legendary burial ground
of ancient Kyrgyz-Kazakh host. In Karakol you have
accomodation for your first night in a hotel near the
mountains or in Yurts Camp in downtown.
Day 2. Karakol
Your day is for your walking around and city-tour, hosted by our guide.
Today's highlights are the CHURCH OF HOLY TRINITY, SUNDAY MARKET,
CHINESE MOSQUE, PRZHEVALSKY MUSEUM AND MONUMENT. Overnight in
Yurts Camp or in hotel.
Day 3. Chon-Kyzyl-Suu
After breakfast in cafe you'll be
transferred to CHON-KYZYL-SUU valley (50km from KARAKOL) and
begin your trekking. After day of hiking you'll have a camp in
the forest under the main gorge TERSKEY ALA-TOO. The stream of
crystal clear water from local glacier is very replenisher and
lovely.
Day 4. Asan-Tokum
Today you will reach ASAN-TOKUM valley
and go over ARCHA-TOR pass (3800m). The camp is again in the
forest and near the rivers DJETY-OGUZ and ASAN-TOKUM. The
altitude for overnight is 2700m.
Day 5. Djety-Oguz - Telety
Your day for reaching TELETY valley
towards the pass with the same name. Camp is surrounded with rocks, mountains and forest of
fir-trees.
Day 6. Karakol gorge
Trekking to KARAKOL valley over the pass TELETY of 3800m you will see
the beautiful view from the summit of that pass. OGUZ-BASHI
peak is in front of you. This peak has three summits and
difficult for climbing even for professional maountaineers.
Upon descending to KARAKOL valley you have a camp near the big
stone by the river.
Day 7. Karakol Glacier
Your travels will take you towards highest peaks of TERSKAY
ALA-TOO today. KARAKOL PEAK with glacier and DJIGIT PEAK will
meet you this afternoon. Your camp is on the moraine left to
the valley ascross the river of glacier. This night is full of
noise of avalanches from peaks.
Day 8. Kul-Tor
The day of your passing the four-thousand pass ON-TOR. To be
more exact, this pass is 4001m is a border between two
doughter rivers of Karakol river. Your route is under the
neighbour DJIGIT peak with great ice-falls and crashes. Camp
is a few km from the glacier.
Day 9. Sirota place
You continiue your tour down in Karakol valley
along the fast rage mountain's Karakol river. Mountains around
are like a high rocked sky-scrapers. You
climb on altitude 2900m to the place called SIROTA (it means
"orphan" because it's like a forest oasis in the
middle of rock's area). There is a little log hut built by
group of enthusiasts a few years ago. This place is
fantastacally beauty with its landscape and look around. You
can see a few neighbour valleys with their corner peaks and
ridges. Your camping is on the bank of little stream from
ALA-KUL lake above you. Surrounded with forest, your first
tent camping is a quiet place for enjoying a silence of
mountains and crystal clear air and water.
Day 10. Ala-Kul Lake
After brekfast you continiue your climb to the pearl of
Karakol canyon - ALA-KUL LAKE. This lake is famous with its
altitude 3500m above sea level. Unfortunately this altitude
doesn't allow to be this lake full of life, but the view of
this nature miracle ir really unforgettable for everybody. If
you are in the first time here - we are sure you'll fall in
love with it. The color of surface is changing every hour
depending on the weather conditions from greenery-blue to
violet. If you are lucky with the weather you can see a sunset
on the lake and that's a wonderful. Your camp on the lake
shore.
Day 11. Altyn-Arashan resort
Today is a day of ALA-KUL pass of 3860m high. You have good
acclimatization for passing over it. The short top on the
summit is good for seeing around and watching the highest
peaks of Terskey Ala-Too: KARAKOL (5273m), DJIGIT and
OGUZ-BASHI PEAKS. The ridge of these peaks lasts from the west
to the east. After that, you go down to the valley of
ALTYN-ARASHAN resort. This resiort is famous with its HOT
SULPHUR SPRINGS. Your evening is at leisure and having bath in
this lovely spot. Camping in tents or in a local guest house
optional.
Day 12. Altyn-Arashan
The day of your relaxation and enjoying the surprising nature
around. The valley is attractive with its wonderful mountains
and nature. This place is famous worldwide with its beautiful
forests and lovely places for campings. Full day of excursions
and swimming in the natural sulphur Hot Springs.
Day 13. Karakol
Today your morning is for your own exploration of this place
or for visiting baths again and afternoon you go down along
the river ARASHAN to the village AK-SUU. On the way you will
pass one more pass of less than 2500m but you almost don't
notice that. This pass is border between two valleys ARASHAN
and AK-SUU. Another resort is situated in AK-SUU valley
with hot baths but it's not so remote area and a lot of people
are there everyday. Then you return to Karakol. Hotel
accomodation for overnight.
Day 14. Issyk-Kul
Bid farewell to mountain trekking and go to Issyk-Kul Lake for
having whole day of swimming, fishing, boating or just
relaxation on the shore of this "PEARL OF
TIEN-SHAN". Camp is in the tents or in chalet
accomodation.
Day 15. Bishkek
This morning you bid farewell to Issyk-Kul region before
continiue your tour to Bishkek through the towns and
villages of North shore of ISSYK-KUL Lake via BOOM gorge with
intricate rock canyons and visiting BURANA TOWER (11th c)
en-route. Upon arrival in
Bishkek you have a hotel accomodation for your last overnight
in Kyrgyzstan after long trip
in the mountains.
Day 16. Bishkek - Depart for home
Today you travel home from airport with many pleasant memories of
your visit to Issyk-Kul region and mighty mountains of Kyrgyz Republic.
